Rich Site Summary (RSS) is a format for web feeds. RSS shows changed and added news articles, blog entries or audio/video logs. It is most prominently used for the distribution of podcasts.

Validation
RSS and XML are not very human-readable like other Markup languages. For this a validator can be used. One of the most popular ones is the Feed Validation Service by W3C.
